In a week full of okay releases, Soulé sticks out like a sore thumb with her brilliant new track, “Troublemaker.”
Yeah, so this week there are a few nice releases, but they just don’t grab you from the first listen – definitely a lot of growers. But one track doesn’t need time, and that’s “Troublemaker!”
The London-born singer has a soulful voice that you can imagine over a simple piano being beautiful, but here (and as always) she gives us an edge, with a tropical-tinged, lite-drum and bass production that compliments her vocals flawlessly.
While the production is fun and made for a spring/summer jam, it’s Soulé’s vocals that take centre stage – different to her usual heavy drum and bass releases!
Lyrically, the singer/songwriter is talking about a boy that is treating her wrong, not like the “queen” she is!
I’M A QUEEN BOY, YOU JUST LOST A DIME, IT’S NOT RIGHT WHAT YOU DO
Diffusion Lab may just have a huge star amongst them if she carries on delivering tunes like this!
