Moss Kena – “48” ft. Jay Prince | Review

Moss Kena has created one of the coolest, laidback songs of the year with his Jay Prince assisted, “48.”

Artists come and go like nobodies business, but rarely does an artist come by with so much mystery surrounding them as Kena. If you visit her social media, there are no pictures of her, no bios, nothing – risky as it could overshadow her music, but add the moment it just adds to her sound.

“48” follows the similar laidback electro-jazz-funk-soul mix – quite a genre-fuck up, I know – as her cover of Kendrick Lamar’s “These Walls.”

Her vocals are almost spoken words, but they’re delivered beautifully in a smooth, yet also slightly raspy vocal.

The production compliments her voice perfectly as her voice runs over them, neither leading, just running side by side to create a dreamy single.

Rapper, Prince, isn’t actually needed on this track, but his feature does add another layer to an already multi-layered track, changing the speed of the track, just for a moment.

The mysterious Kena is in for a bright a successful career if she carries on – she definitely knows how to make an impact.
