Bebe Rexha – “The Way I Are (Dance With Somebody” ft. Lil Wayne | Review

Bebe Rexha may just have her first huge hit on her hands with “The Way I Are,” no thanks to Lil Wayne at all.

Rexha seems to have been around for a while, but she’s failed to make the mark that many predicted for her with early singles. However, after a few collabs and MTV shows hosting, she’s managed to get record breaker rapper of yesterday’s, Lil Wayne, to feature on a track – don’t really know why she wanted him.

Rexha sounds amazing! Yes, the song’s not the most original thing released this year, but it’s fun and Rexha sounds like she’s actually being herself and not trying to fit to a type that she thinks people want.

The song’s title is easily compared to two huge songs, “The Way I Are,” by Timberland which it thankfully doesn’t sound like, and “I Wanna Dance (With Somebody)” by the Queen, Whitney Houston – she smartly addresses this in the first line of the song, “I’ll never ever sing like Whitney,” smart Miss Rexha!

However, the big problem on this song is Wayne. Why is he still a thing!? He’s voice has always been a bit marmite, you either love it or hate it, but in recent years it’s just turned to shit and he now just relies on auto-tune – HE DOESN’T EVEN SOUND GOOD WITH IT.

Why is auto-tuned rap now a thing? Lil Wayne and Quavo sound fucking terrible. Stop it immediately!
