Haiku Hands – “Not About You” | Review

There are only three words that describe Haiku Hands debut single, “Not About You;” house, attitude and fierce.

The band consist of four women from Australia; Mie Nakazawa, Claire Nakazawa, Beatrice Lewis and Mataya Young, and let me tell you, these girls aren’t holding back!

The song kicks straight out of the gate with a thumping house beat that takes you straight to raves.

Then when the girls anthemic, shouty, almost spoken delivery begins, it gives you this undeniable energy that just makes you want to move.

Lyrically, this song is all about attitude! It’s not going to win any songwriting awards but the crazy lyrics match the crazy house beat.

The band remind me of a British group, Neon Jungle, their first single, “Trouble,” had similar house vibes with a similar shouty delivery, but the comparison that is really striking is the freshness that they both bring.

Listening to their debut singles, it feels new and exciting in a world where artists are releasing generic music!

We can’t wait to hear what the girls bring to the table next!
