Hey Violet – “O.D.D” | Review

The newly pop sounding, Hey Violet, have released an absolute banger in the form of the mid-tempo track, “O.D.D.”

The band, formerly known as Cherri Bomb, have gone under a bit of a make-over, gone is the former lead singer, Julia Pierce, and in are Casey Moreta, and Iain Shipp – their sound is also a little different.

As Cherri Bomb, the band were a pop-punk/rock band, now they’re aiming to take over pop, and if singles like “Guys My Age” is anything to go by, they might just achieve it!

“O.D.D” is a bit of a slow one during its verses with vibes that sound similar to 2003 Avril Lavigne – the best Avril!

The song eventually runs into a rousing, mid-tempo chorus with electronic and synth influences – something the band is implementing in their new sound and they sound all the better for it!

Lyrically, the song discusses being the odd one out and being left out and picked on for it, and in this case, “any minute she might crack.”
