Olivia O’Brien – “R.I.P” | Review

The mastermind behind worldwide smash hit, “hate you love you,” Olivia O’Brien, is ready to take the world by storm with her effortlessly cool new single, “R.I.P.”

You may recognise her name mainly from the gnash version of “hate you love you” which samples her original, but O’Brien is on the verge of leading the pack of the worlds next generation of pop stars, alongside the likes of Dua Lipa and the already established Lorde.

“R.I.P” follows the same minimalistic, lite-trap vibes of her previous singles, “Trust Issues” and “Empty,” giving us an idea of what to expect off a yet unannounced album.

The production fits in perfectly with whats popular right now, which isn’t surprising when you see that it’s produced by Nic Nac and DaviDior, the same people that produced DJ Khalid‘s “I’m The One.”

At only 17 years of age, O’Brien sounds mature beyond her years, and with the songwriting ability that someone double her age wish they had, she’s sure to go onto big things!

Mark my words, we’ll be hearing a lot more from O’Brien!!
