PVRIS – “Winter” | Review

The amazing PVRIS are back with another banger, “Winter”, two weeks before the drop of their sophomore album, All We Know Of Heaven, All We Need Of Hell.

This is the part where I should be like; ‘look at the past accomplishments of the band, this is how they usually sound, something about the album, blah blah blah’ – instead I’m just going to say; the band are just really fucking good!

Constantly blurring genre boundaries, especially between rock and pop, PVRIS bring lovers over both genres together on such amazing alt-pop sounds – “Winter” is no exception.

The subdued verse set a mysterious tone before the rousing drums race towards the epic drop of the chorus.

PVRIS often switch their tilt between pop and rock on each track, luckily for us as a pop site, they’ve chosen the pop side here, and the everything but the kitchen sink approach works amazing as the explosion into the chorus gives you new life.

Lead singer, Lyndsey Gunnulfsen’s vocals work perfectly with the slightly dark sound of the production (by Alex Babinski and Brian MacDonald), at times becoming part of the vibe.

Basically, PVRIS are amazing as we all knew they were and roll on August 25 when their sophomore album is released!
