Fifth Harmony are back with a bit more attitude on their second single as a foursome, “Angel.”
I won’t lie, I’m still not over Camilla Cabello‘s swift exit from the group, but their last single, “Down,” didn’t exactly set a fire under my arse – is “Angel” any better?
Well, yes – least it doesn’t just rip off one of their former singles (“Work From Home” and “Down” anyone?).
The trap heavy track is reminiscent of the top hip-hop hits over the last few years – and surprisingly, this track doesn’t contain a guest rapper.
The electronic breakdown before the final chorus really plays as the songs best moment, it just adds another layer to trap production.
All the girls have equal parts here, and thankfully they all sound great – and we don’t miss Cabello!
However, is this a worldwide smash? Not really! It’s a nice little track but for one of the top girl-bands on the planet, it’s nowhere near enough.
