Heathers – “Midnight Train” | Review

The Heathers (no reference to the teen film) have gone all alt-pop on us with their latest release, “Midnight Train.”

The twins, from Dublin, aren’t new to this whole music thing, their debut album, Here, Not There, was released back in 2008 – can you believe that’s nearly ten years ago?!

The band have recently begun to slide away from the folky beginnings and slithered into new pop territory with their previous single, “Call Me,” and “Midnight Train.”

The restrained production along with the held back vocals in the verses is reminiscent of Lana Del Ray, which is barely surprising saying that the producer, Liam Howe, has worked with Ray.

The sisters have obviously perfected their harmonies over the years, and on this track, they are gloriously pushed to the front of the track – the production works around them, rather than trying to take over!
