Liquid Monk – “Nighttime” ft. Kameryn Ogden | Review

Liquid Monk further push themselves as a simply unique and innovative group with their latest single, “Nighttime,” featuring Kameryn Ogden.

If you haven’t heard of Liquid Monk before; one, you should, and two, they’re pretty bloody amazing – mixing together soul, jazz, electronic with the vocal stylings of pop, R&B and hip-hop to create a truly beautiful sound.

Their latest track, “Nighttime,” is more pop-leaning than some of their tracks but it doesn’t take away from the unique edge that the band have with the pulsing synths, understated guitar and percussions that shine through.

Ogden’s vocals perfectly fit the vibe of the track, almost like she’s an actual part of Monk!

The repetitive lyrics here are really effective, linking together the tough times that they discuss with the mimicking of the brain when you’re going through a tough time – e.g. thinking about the situation over and over again.

The track only continues to push the band as they race forward to their upcoming self-titled debut album, due this autumn.
