Polartropica – “Olympia” | Review

Polartropica takes us to outer space and back with her new single, “Olympia.”

Taking influence from different areas of music, Polartropica mixes them together and pulls out little balls of unique disco heaven.

“Olympia” is a blend of electronic-pop with its shimmering synth that lies under the production and traditional J-pop influences with its video game-esque elements only to be topped off with Wu’s dreamlike vocals.

The track’s distinguished sound definitely feeds your imagination, taking you to another planet for a while with it’s upbeat and fun vibes.

The experimental nature of the track takes us back to the 80s, a time where new music making equipment was being created and all sorts of sounds came out of the experimentation – it’s truly a retro throwback while staying ultimately modern!
