Craig David – “Heartline” | Review

Craig David goes for a more pop sound on his new single, “Heartline.”

David returned last year to a rousing success with a number one album with Following My Intuition, as well as performing on the Pyramid stage at the legendary Glastonbury festival.

Well, the star is wasting any time, recently announcing his next album, The Time Is Now, due to be released January 28 as well embarking on a tour.

“Heartline” steers away from the garage sound we grew to expect from the star, and goes in a more house-pop direction – not exactly unfamiliar territory for the David either.

Is it the most electrifying single ever? Well, no, not really.

The track isn’t bad, but it doesn’t feel like a lead single, it’s more of a third or fourth release from an album.

We understand he wants to carry on the wave of success he had last year, but sometimes it’s better to walk away for a bit and work on a fucking brilliant album than releasing just a good one and stay around.
