Jessie Ware is back to her best on the latest offering from Glasshouse (out October 20), “Alone.”
Ware is now well on the road to her third studio album after releasing three tracks over the last couple of months, the great lead single that was “Midnight,” the so-so second single, “Selfish Love” and now “Alone.”
What instantly stands out about “Alone” is its familiar pre-chorus melody, sounding like it’s been plucked from some of the great soul tracks of latter-days.
As always with Ware, the songwriting is amazing, her smooth and effortless vocals are present and there’s that sense of mystery surrounding the track.
Glasshouse seems to be stepping back from the glossy, R&B and alternative sounds of her previous albums and going with a more simple and soulful vibe.
