Scott Quinn – “From Afar” | Review

Scott Quinn brings laidback electronica vibes with his latest single, “From Afar.”

Electronic music is getting more cramped by the day, but every so often you get one artist that comes along and stands slightly taller than most of the others – one of those people is  Scott Quinn.

“From Afar” offers similar sounds to his previous singles, “Delicate” and “Know Me,” a shimmering electronic beat that’s sprinkled in a classic R&B coating, all while sending us into a hazy dream with the laidback vibes.

Quinn’s voice almost becomes part of the production in parts as they blend so seamlessly, but for the most part, he commands the song with a confidence that shines through.

Talking about the track, Quinn says; ‘From Afar’ is about the turmoil of falling for someone unexpected and knowing that you can’t be together. Sometimes when faced with difficult situations we find ourselves conjuring-up rationalisations that ease the pain but may not necessarily work in practice.”
