Y.O.U.N.G come through with the release of the notoriously difficult second single – aiming to rock through the speakers with “Exposure.”
In the days where pretty much every genre has been flipped, examined, flipped again and broken into pieces, it’s getting seriously hard to find a truly exciting and initiative band that genuinely excites you – enter Y.O.U.N.G.
Their debut track, “What I Gotta Do,” lent an alternative crossed with hip-hop production with the rapper verses and pop melody delivery chorus, we thought the first the taste might be enough – oh how wrong we were.
“Exposure” comes through harsher and more abrasive with it’s more classic rock production, rapped over by the bands MC, Ben James who does a brilliant job of never letting the instruments take over and drives the song towards their now typical pop influenced catchy chorus.
Throughout both tracks, you can definitely hear the British influences, more specifically, classic Manchester band (Oasis) influences in their sound.
While the whole rock/rap thing isn’t exactly new, Y.O.U.N.G do it with such vitality and with a sense of fun that it feels fresh.
