Liam Payne‘s second solo single, “Bedroom Floor,” gives us mixed feelings.
“Strip That Down,” Payne’s debut solo track, was a massive success, selling over 600,000 copies here in the U.K as well as over one million across the seas in the U.S – so the pressure was always going to be high.
Well, he doesn’t reach the same level as his debut, unfortunately.
“Bedroom Floor” is a slick R&B produced track (looks like we know where the album is going), and in parts, it’s a real bop – and Payne’s vocals are kinda good, although they’re not the main focus of the song.
BUT! Can we talk about the lyrics please, “you said it was over, but your clothes say different on my bedroom floor” and “everytime my iPhone rings I’ll be telling you I told you” – terrible, just bloody terrible.
And there’s another issue, this man is happily married (we presume) and has a child, yet his lyrics always seems to be from a single life – we know songs don’t have to be written about your own life, but still!
