Áine Cahill – “Blood Diamonds” (ft. Courage) | Review

Áine Cahill is here to make us pay attention with a with a little help from producer, Courage, on her brand new single, “Blood Diamonds.”

2017 is the year for Cahill, the sultry “Plastic” marked a breakthrough for the star who had a couple of hits behind her already and started an intensive summer of touring including stops at Glastonbury, sold out tour of Ireland and a huge support spot on JP Coopers latest tour.

“Blood Diamonds” is hands down Cahill’s best song of her career so far, everything about it just comes together and connects the dots that have shown flashes of her amazingness previously.

Her haunting and commanding voice takes charge from the outset as we’re weaved through a Lana Del Rey style of story-telling of “all the bad bitches in the world who get everything, and us nice bitches, who get nothing” – her words!

The intoxicating production from Courage really brings out the beautiful tones from the vocals and allows the slow delivery of the song to not become too sluggish with its thunderous synth beats.

We’re so here for Cahill right now it hurts – be the Irish answer to Del Rey!

Check out her brilliant new single below and let us know what you think in the comments!
