Monti’s latest visuals for “Echo” offer us a raw and unique look at Los Angeles.
It’s safe to say that Monti hasn’t had the easiest upbringing, drug and alcohol abuse, physical abuse, living life in gangs, but the star has come through all that and is brilliantly conveyed in her debut song Echo with moody synths and electro-pop.
The track, written (and featured) by Josh Stevens (LMFAO, Calvin Harris) is a pretty great mid-tempo ballad that draws on her hardships and turns them into an uplifting and positive song.
The video follows aspiring fashion designer, Reggie Snowden, who has to travel to and from school, up early mornings each day to take buses and trains from Inglewood to North Hollywood, Ca. All the while still juggling graveyard night shifts for work each evening.
Stevens thought it was an inspiring and fascinating story. So he and “Echo” video director Matt Champagne gave the fashion designer a $50 budget and a camera, the visual is the result of Snowden’s story and truly beautiful perspective.
