Madison Beer – “Say It To My Face” | Review

Madison Beer just keeps getting better and better, “Say It To My Face” is the start of her finally starting to sound like herself.

Beer first found fame when Justin Bieber retweeted one of YouTube covers (Etta James, “At Last”) and became a worldwide trend on Twitter before going on to be signed to Island and managed by Bieber’s manager, Scooter Braun.

Well, after a few releases like “Something Sweet” and “All For Love,” we began to feel that the star wasn’t yet coming into her own – of course, she wasn’t even 18 at the time – but now, she finally sounds that she knows who she is and where she wants to go.

“Say It To My Face” is instantly memorable for itsĀ guitar-lead production that sticks out from the pack in the best way possible – like c’mon, can you think of a similar production in music at the moment?

However, while the sound is unique, it still contains a familiarity of casual electro-pop to connect to a general audience.

Can we just talk about the real draw of this track though? Beer’s voice!

This woman is 18 and her voice contains a power that could blow away voices of those double her age. Wrapped up in the vocal is maturity beyond her years that pours out with each note.

We expect big things from Beer!
