Taio Cruz sinks further into musical obscurity with his latest French Montana assisted single, “Row The Body.”
There was a time when Cruz was the greatest the U.K had to offer – remember “Dynamite” when that blew up the world (sorry for the pun).
We haven’t heard from him in a few years, not because he hasn’t released anything, simply because his music output hasn’t been great.
“Row The Body” doesn’t even sound like him, which is maybe the point after “Hangover” practically copied “Dynamite” – but the song just doesn’t ignite even the smallest flame in order for us to get excited.
Cruz has a great voice, and during the pre-chorus you get the slightest hope of something good coming – and then it actually comes and you wish it didn’t.
Montana is the star of this song, which more than makes up for his terrible verse on Jason Derulo’s new track (also released this week, it’s a busy week for Montana).
It’s not that this is necessarily bad, it’s just that it’s not that great.
Back to the drawing board, Cruz.
