Vera electrifies us with her latest (and best) track, “Nobody Else.”
“Falling” and “In And Out Of Love” really laid the path for Vera and her intoxicating sound, but “Nobody Else” manages to take it to a place where we’ve never heard her.
The song follows the feels of the previous two, a post-summer, Carribean and Spanish influenced vibes that take you straight to the beach – all topped off with nice little synth and electronic sparkles that take control in the verse to really add to the whole unique sound.
Vera’s androgynous voice adds a mystery to the track which carries on through the imagery she uses in her covers, giving the song a full-circle feel, leaving no angle missed.
The track is inspired by Wide Sargasso Sea by Jean Rhys, a novel about a Jamaican man that locked his wife in the attic because she was apparently mad – once you know that it adds a whole new layer to the song!
