Song of the Week: Zedd & Katy Perry – “365” | Review

Zedd and Katy Perry make the perfect pairing on their new single, “365” – just don’t push them for a relationship!

Zedd is one of the biggest producers on the planet right now after working with the likes of Ariana Grande (Break Free), Dua Lipa (Scared to be Lonely) and Maren Morris (The Middle). Perry is one of the biggest pop stars on the planet, even if her previous album, Witness, was a critical and commercial letdown – I think the album is better than most give it credit for.

“365” isn’t a straight-up banger with explosive choruses or a club-ready anthem, it’s an understated bop that focuses more on storytelling than just getting people on the dancefloor.

Perry’s sultry vocals work perfectly for the more subdued production, a sound that wouldn’t sound out of place on Witness.

The song is great in itself, but the music video is an event and proves how a visual can impact the song.

Perry features as a robot that becomes a little obsessed with its goal of basically being a love robot, and unfortunately, Zedd is on the receiving end of this – it’s just a perfectly created piece of film that both artists and the director should be very proud of.

Could this be the track that breathes new life into Perry’s career after the flump of Witness, I sure think so!
