Bebe Rexha might have just released her best song yet with the introspective, “Last Hurrah.”
When Rexha burst onto the scene back in 2013/14 she was expected to be pops next star, but for some reason, her great pop hooks didn’t really stick with the public. But that didn’t stop the star, she carried on writing for music heavyweights like Rihanna and Iggy Azaelia, as well as refining her sound which led to last years debut album, Expectations, and her biggest hit yet with “I’m A Mess.”
If there’s any justice left in the world, “Last Hurrah” will be the song that launches Rexha on to the international stage!
The track is kind of a masterpiece in great pop music with its understated verses, explosive chorus and beautiful self-destructive storytelling.
“This is my last hurrah, once I start/I ain’t gonna stop ’tiI I go too far/Last hurrah and it’s okay/Maybe tomorrow I won’t feel this pain.”
Rexha’s unique voice is the draw here, not many singers can get away with the way she draws out “last hurrah” on the chorus, but her tone gives it an endearing quality.
Bebe Rexha, you’ve outdone your already brilliant standards!
