SUNMI – “Noir” | Review

K-Pop artist, SUNMI, hits all the right notes on her latest track, “Noir.”

As you may have heard, K-Pop is pretty huge right now, and leading the pack is BTS, but behind their mammoth force is a whole mix of experimental artists and sounds that are worth exploring – SUNMI being one of them.

I won’t lie, I’m not the biggest listener of K-Pop, but I am a fan of good music, and SUNMI is pretty great, and in Korea is unstoppable, reaching the top two positions across her solo single releases.

“Noir” carries a dark sense about it, with crashing synths and atmospheric swirls in the background – something that runs through her solo releases and makes her stand out from the busy K-Pop crowd.

SUNMI’s voice works perfectly amongst the Halloween-esque production – similar to Kim Petras’ “Close Your Eyes.”

If the last three single, “Heroine,” “Sirens” and current song, “Noir,” are anything to go by, SUNMI’s next album will be pretty amazing.

The video is also brilliant!!!
