Iggy Azalea – “Sally Walker” | Review

Iggy Azalea makes a triumphant return with the nursery rhyme turned twerk-bop, “Sally Walker.”

It’s a bit of an understatement to say Azalea hasn’t had it easy. Her music career was derailed at its peak by hip-hop politics and poor decisions she made (tweeted) in the past, but the one constant has been her pretty amazing standard of music – let’s forget “MO Bounce” please!

Last year she dropped the brilliant Survive The Summer EP which made people stand up and pay her the attention she deserves.

“Sally Walker” plays on the current trend of taking a nursery rhyme and turning it into a dance floor tune!

The beat instantly grabs your attention – not just because it’s similar to Cardi B‘s “Money” (they share the same producer) – followed by Azalea’s typical bravado-filled lyrics, talking smack about those below her and those who’ve attacked her body.

There’s also a nice little RuPaul reference in there for assurance – fitting as there are three drag queens that appear in the murderous video (Miss Vanjie, Shea Couleé and Mayhem Miller).

Azalea’s flow has never been disputed, the star can out rap some of the best in the game.

Is this moment the “Fancy” star makes her triumphant return to the top?
