Song of the Week: MARINA – “Orange Trees” | Review

MARINA may have just released the most simple song of her career with “Orange Trees,” but it’s also one of her most inviting.

The artist, formerly known as Marina and the Diamonds, is on quite the release schedule right now, with he the third taster of her new album, Love + Fear, in six weeks (“Homemade Heaven,” “Superstar”) – we are definitely not complaining.

MARINA tracks are usually unusual events with alt-pop vibes and out of this world high notes that we can only marvel at, but “Orange Trees” marks a definite change in approach and sound for her.

The production is simple but in the best way possible, the summery, carefree vibes are perfectly relaxed and untroubled – it has everything it takes to be the song of the summer.

Her vocals flow delicately and easily along the breezy beat, allowing the track to become her most inviting and mass-friendly song she’s ever released.

MARINA has long deserved a huge hit, and while it isn’t the most uniquely ‘her’ song, it could be the hit to take her career to that next level.

Check out the summery track below and let us know what you think in the comments!
