Indiana – “Sweet Things” | Review

Is Indiana working towards album number three or is she just giving us weekly treats? Not too sure, but we’ll take it!

Let’s just put this out there, Indiana is a star! I’ve seen her live twice and both times she left me shook, her two studio albums (No Romeo and Not Girlfriend Material) are near electronica perfection and she’s also pretty great at editing videos.

Since the beginning of March, the Nottingham-based star has been gifting us a song a week, with the promise of doing this for the foreseeable, starting with “Caroline” and then “No Strings,” but has since put up a post captioned “Album 3?” – honestly, we don’t care as long as we’re getting new music.

“Sweet Things” is easily Indiana’s most mainstream song since her top 20 hit, “Solo Dancing,” resting on a synthy, dreamy production that has a definite 80s slow-burning ballad vibe about it.

The most arresting thing about the stars music is usually the experimental and progressive production, but here it’s are subtle which allows her voice to shine and it’s beautiful, delicate and intriguing.

We can’t wait to see what she gives us this Friday!
