Song of the Week – Georgia – “About Work The Dancefloor” | Review

Sometimes you hear a track and within the first ten seconds you can just tell it’s going to be a moment – Georgia‘s “About Work The Dancefloor” is one of them!

If you listen to Georgia’s past releases, you can see the Londoner is not to be underestimated, her brand of pop which incorporates elements of grime and underground progressive pop is truly mindblowing – most artists could only ever dream.

Saying that “About Work The Dancefloor” is possibly one of her more simple pop songs, but in a way, it makes her more accessible.

From the moment the first big beat drops, we’re reminded of the Robyn’s biggest and most influential hit, “Dancing On My Own,” but that’s exactly what it is, an influence and not a rip-off.

Georgia’s soft vocals grace the harshness and directness of the heavy synths that carry the song to create a dreamy piece of pop which should, but probably won’t, have the impact that Robyn has nearly ten years ago!

This song is epic and deserves your attention!
