Jennifer Lopez calls on the sound of her earlier days on her new single, ” Medicine” – but does it create the same magic?
Okay, let’s get one thing straight, J.Lo is a legend! Whether it’s music or acting, she’s been at the top of both at one point or another – oh, and the girl is on par with Beyonce in terms of dancing.
It’s safe to say J.Lo’s chart-topping days are behind her, the last chart-topper was “On The Floor” back in 2011, but that hasn’t stopped the artist releasing music constantly since, whether in English or Spanish.
On her new single, her third with French Montana after “I Luh Ya Papi” and “Same Girl,” recalls the horns that exploded back in 2013-15 and the ones that she played with in “Get Right,” but to be honest, they don’t pack the same punch.
The song is nice enough, but it’s not enough to take Lopez back to the top of the charts or introduce her to a younger audience.
Montana’s verse is pleasant, but it’s too little too late to save the song from mediocrity.
The song will, however, excite people for her first tour in seven years to celebrate her 50th birthday (yes, you read that right, 50th!), titled; It’s My Party: The Live Celebration.
