Kianja – “I Can’t Make You Love Me” | Review

Kianja is slaying us with her soulful vintage-pop vibes on new single, “I Can’t Make You Love Me.”

The Londoner burst out of the gate last year with her brilliant debut single, “Closer,” which left us kind of shook, to be honest – the genreless track didn’t have much of a structure and we lived for it.

Kianja’s second single is a lot more directed and shows a different side to the effortlessly cool debut.

“I Can’t Make You Love Me” is a soul track through and through, but implements old-school pop vibes along with an electronic undercurrent that bubbles away underneath.

Vocally Kianja absolutely kills it, showing us her softer sides, headnotes and full on belts that could rival anyone in the industry, all with her unique tone!

It’s easy to draw comparisons to Lauryn Hill, Amy Winehouse and Emeli Sandé due to the contemporary soul mix, but the truth is that Kianja’s making her own way and laying her own path – the 20-year-old is only going to grow with each release, and we can’t wait to hear them!
