Kygo & Rita Ora – “Carry On” | Review

Kygo and Rita Ora team up for the soundtrack to the new Pokemon film, Detective Pikachu, on new single, “Carry On.”

Ora has made quite the impact since releasing her second studio album, Pheonix, releasing one of last years best singles (IMO) with “Let Me Love You” and just being the all-around pop artist we know she is.

“Carry On” isn’t anything special or new in terms of pushing musical boundaries, but it does what it does very well…which is what we expect from routine bop producer, Kygo.

The track is a slow burner that gradually builds into an anthemic, hands in the air style breakdown chorus that Ora’s sweet vocals glide right over – it’s a pretty tight song, even if it’s not hugely inspired.

This song won’t do much for either artist, but it’s likely to add a bit more spotlight onto the film, which looks like it’s going to be pretty funny!
