Zara Larsson – “WOW” | Review

Zara Larsson‘s latest track, “WOW,” doesn’t quite pack the punch of its predecessor.

“Don’t You Worry Bout Me” was a return to the sound we love from Larsson, upbeat, edgy and a complete banger so when we found out this track was produced by marshmello¬†we were pretty excited.

However, “WOW” doesn’t seem to go anywhere, it’s kind of there one minute and gone the next without you really knowing what you’ve listened to.

The production all leads towards the latter half of the chorus where the breakdown gives you a few seconds of life, but it’s not enough to save from the terrible lyrics.

It’s basically a love song that revolves around her lover just looking at her and thinking “WOW”…I was ready for a story and didn’t really get one.

The repetitiveness of the chorus is obviously going for more of the club route where people are too pissed to know what the words are (and the remixes will be fire), but I was just left feeling underwhelmed.
