Meghan Trainor – “Badass Woman” | Review

“Badass Woman,” the soundtrack to the new Rebel Wilson and Anne Hathaway film, “Hustle,” sees Meghan Trainor go back to the empowerment anthems that shot her to fame.

Okay, so before we get onto the song, I can’t wait to see this film! I get it, Wilson plays the same role in pretty much every film…but she does it so well – we’ll forget Hathaway’s terrible British accent.

“Badass Woman” fits right in with Trainor’s discography for female empowerment anthems, but past that, this song confuses me, I just don’t know how to feel.

As a pop song, it’s a bloody banger, with synths, riffs and uplifting energy that the best pop tracks have – but it’s also cheesy as hell and kind of naff.

I don’t want to like the song, but I’m also sat here living my best life because of it.

Least the song is better than what the film seems to be judging by the reviews!
