Eden xo name drops a few legends on her new sad-bop, “Sorry for Myself.”
We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again, but why isn’t Eden huge?! She’s always released quality pop songs, but her last couple have been bloody amazing.
“Sorry for Myself” is a sad banger that we all need in our lives.
The pop track is reminiscent of something off Carly Rae Jepsen’s brilliant Emotions, with its perfect mid-tempo pop chorus that gets stuck in your head immediately.
Name dropping the likes of Elvis, Madonna, Dolly Parton and Nirvana is always a way to grab peoples attention, but here they fit in so effortlessly with the storytelling.
Lyrically the track is about having a shitty day and finally letting go when you get back home, turning the speakers the whole way up.
“See, nobody understands me quite like Elvis do/So I pray to Madonna ’cause she gets my groove/I’ve had a bad day/I’m in a bad mood/I turn up the music so loud and I yell/The neighbours below me can just go to hell/They hit me with that broom-broom tap-tap/I hit ’em with a boom-boom back, oh well/I’m exercising my right to feel sorry for myself”
This is definitely our new bad day banger!
