ZAYN and Zhavia Ward have performed the legendary “A Whole New World” for the live-action remake of Aladdin – but does it match the impact of the original? (no)
Performing on a soundtrack for a Disney film can change your career forever and give you a legacy, so with all the new live-action remakes lined up, we’re pretty excited to hear what the worlds biggest stars have to offer.
“A Whole New World” might be one of Disneys biggest songs, with the original by Peabo Bryson and Regina Belle reaching number one on the Billboard Hot 100, so it’s a shame that this one doesn’t even get off the ground.
The song isn’t exactly the longest song in the world at a little over four minutes, but it feels neverending when you’re listening to it – honestly, the film will probably go faster.
ZAYN doesn’t seem to have the same magic that he did back when he first went solo, and while Ward sounds beautiful, it just doesn’t contain the magic it needs.
Maybe they need to rub the lamp and ask Genie to grant them a few wishes to make this song better.
