Mark Ronson – “Don’t Leave Me Lonely” featuring YEBBA | Review

Mark Ronson continues his run of brilliant single with the YEBBA assisted, “Don’t Leave Me Lonely.”

When I heard Ronson was planning an album I was scared silly we were going to get an “Uptown Funk” pt II, but thank our lucky stars he’s left that behind him and gone for an 80s inspired disco sound – honestly, he’s never sounded better.

“Don’t┬áLeave Me Tonight” follows on from the Lykke Li assisted “Late Night Feelings,” and honestly, it’s the perfect follow-up.

The deep disco vibes mixed with a little lite-house are dreamy, and along with YEBBA’s distinct, gospel-like vocals transport us to another world for three and a half minutes.

Ronson isn’t just releasing songs, he’s releasing moods, sad, disco-tinged moods that make you want to dance your worries away, and we’re living for it.

He might not be getting the chart positions he’s used to, but it’s that the way? The best tracks never get commercial success.
