Louis Tomlinson – “Kill My Mind” | Review

Louis Tomlinson goes down an unexpected 90s brit-pop route with his new single, “Kill My Mind.”

It’s safe to say, out of all the former One Direction boys, Tomlinson is yet to make his mark as a solo artist, never really finding himself in anything he releases whereas all the others seem to feel authentic.

“Kill My Mind” might be surprising on first listen due to all his previous releases sticking to a more pop-based formula, but it’s actually not too bad.

The change in sound actually suits his voice and he finally feels alive instead of just going through the motions.

However, it does feel a bit like karaoke. The song doesn’t do anything to reinvent the brit-pop movement that Blur and Oasis took the helm of back in the day, in fact, at some points it actually sounds like Tomlinson is doing some Liam Gallagher-isms in his delivery which really doesn’t help with the karaoke vibes.

Least we are finally going in the right way for star…we just need to get it sounding a bit more authentic now!
